It was the summer of eighteen eighty eight when fear swept through the Whitechapel district of London. A series of brutal murders over the course of just three months shocked the city and captured the attention of the public. The crimes were attributed to a figure who would become one of history’s most infamous serial killers, known to this day as Jack the Ripper.

The true identity of the killer was never discovered, a mystery that has endured for more than a century and inspired countless books, films, conspiracy theories, and modern true crime obsessions. The case also marked a turning point in criminal investigation. Mary Jane Kelly, the final victim, was among the first crime victims to be photographed by police, and these early forensic methods soon became standard practice in documenting criminals and crime scenes. This colorway reflects the dark and haunting legacy of that summer.
